You or a member of your staff must hold a Personal Licence if you sell alcohol from licensed premises so that every sale or supply of alcohol is authorised by a licence holder. There must be only one personal at each premises who is the Designated Premises Supervisor. This individual must be a Personal Licence holder and be in day to day control of the premises.
Quite simply, a Personal Licence is needed by anyone intending to supervise the sale of alcohol in any premises, including pubs, off licences, restaurants and hotels but not including private members clubs.
You must be 18 years or older and hold a relevant licensing qualification. I teach the Highfield Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) Level 2. Once granted, a Personal Licence is valid indefinitely.
You don’t need a Personal Licence to sell alcohol under a Temporary Events Notice in Abertillery.
