A personal licence is for individuals to provide the sale of alcohol at a licensed premises and allows the holder to authorise other individuals, who are not personal licence holders, to sell alcohol at premises holding a premises licence. Any individual who plans to sell or supply alcohol or authorise the sale or supply of alcohol must apply for a personal licence.

Applications for personal licence must be submitted on the prescribed forms. Applications for a personal licence are made to the local authority where you live, not necessarily where the premises is located. If you are applying from outside the UK, you can choose any local authority.

Once a personal licence is granted, it is indefinite. Quite simply, it can be used anywhere in England and Wales, under any premises licence. Gaining a personal licence is the start of your career in the licensed trade.

During the one-day course, you will learn all the legal requirements needed to sell alcohol in a professional manner. At the end of the course, we will complete the application forms in readiness for your application. All candidates will then sit a 40 question multi-choice examination. Successful candidates need to score a minimum of 28 correct answers.

I have a 99% exam pass rate. This Highfield, level 2 course is approved and recognised by all licensing authorities in England and Wales.
