A Personal Licence allows a person to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol, within licensed premises.
In order to apply for a Personal Licence, you must be over 18 and have the level 2 award for Personal Licence holders. I deliver the one day Highfield Level 2 course.
A Personal Licence holder must notify the Licensing Authority every time they move house, change their name, or they are convicted of a relevant offence. Failure to do so is an offence under the Licensing Act 2003 and subject to a fine, not exceeding £500.
A Personal Licence is required by the person responsible for the sale of alcohol from premises. This is in addition to the premises licence
The fee for a Personal Licence is £37 and is recognised throughout England and Wales. It lasts for an indefinite duration (unless revoked or surrendered) and is in two parts:
- a card – this includes a photo of the licence holder, their name, a unique number, details of the council issuing the licence and an identifier for that authority.
- a paper form – this contains similar information to the card but doesn’t contain a photo. It also contains details of any relevant convictions. This called the counterpart.
If you are going to operate at licensed premises, quite simply, your starting point is to obtain a Personal Licence.
Call Johnny Walker on 07970 134 730 for availability and for further information about gaining a Personal Licence without the tears. Cheers.
