DESIGNATED PREMISES SUPERVISOR DUDLEY BIRMINGHAM STRATFORD SWINDON ADVICE

Looking to become Designated Premises Supervisor, DPS? Dudley, Birmingham, Stratford upon Avon, Swindon, Bristol, Cheltenham.

A premises that is licensed to sell alcohol must have a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS). If the DPS changes from the person named on the  premises licence, then you will need to apply to vary the licence to change the person who is named.

The DPS is a person who is named on the premises licence for a venue that sells alcohol. They are generally responsible for authorising the sale of alcohol. Simply, any personal licence holder can authorise others, who do not hold a personal licence, to sell alcohol. But generally, the DPS this deals with this function.

The application, to vary the DPS, can only be made only by the premises licence holder, or an agent on behalf of the licence holder. You must get the person being named as the DPS to complete the consent form, which you will need to upload when submitting the application through Gov.uk.

The person who is to be the new DPS must hold a personal licence, issued to them by the local council for the area where they live.

If you want the application to take immediate effect from when licensing it, you must tick the correct box in part two of the form. This states ‘immediate effect’. The fee to change a DPS is £23.

Remember, to become the DPS, you will first need a personal licence. If you need any further advice, please do call me, Johnny Walker, on 07970 134 730 and I’ll do my best to help. Just call, it’s not a problem.
