MALVERN HILLS PERSONAL LICENCE ADVICE 07970 134 730
Hello Malvern Hills. Looking for information about getting a Personal Licence? Call me, Johnny Walker on 07970 134 730. I’m the guy who teaches the one-day Personal Licence course. Give a ring and I’ll explain the whole thing.
Do have a read below. I do go on a bit, but hey…….
A Personal Licence authorises a person to supply alcohol or allow the supply of alcohol at a premises which has a valid premises licence in Malvern Hills, under the Licensing Act 2003.
Personal Licences are needed to supervise the sale of alcohol in any premises – including pubs, off licences, restaurants and hotels.
If you want to authorise the sale or supply of alcohol on licensed premises, or if you apply for a lot of temporary event notices you might want to apply for a Personal Licence.
A Personal Licence allows the holder to authorise the sale or supply of alcohol in all venues with a premises licence in Malvern Hills and England and Wales. A Personal Licence lasts indefinitely, so there is no need to renew the Personal Licence.
Personal Licence holders can also notify up to 50 temporary event notices in each calendar year, subject to restrictions.
Each premises licence which includes the sale or supply of alcohol must nominate a designated premises supervisor (DPS). They must be a Personal Licence holder and act as a contact point for the police and other responsible authorities in case there are issues with the sale and supply of alcohol.
Only one supervisor is required and will normally be responsible for any premises on a day to day basis. You can have more than one Personal Licence holder per premises and this can be the same person as the premises supervisor.
Anyone applying for a Personal Licence must have the right to work in the UK, hold a personal licence qualification and must notify the local licensing authority of any relevant or foreign convictions.
Once granted, a Personal Licence remains in force indefinitely (if you are already a Personal Licence holder and your licence has an expiry date, the date is no longer valid and your licence will remain in force after it has passed).
Venues and properties cannot sell alcohol under a premises licence unless there is a designated premises supervisor (DPS) named on the licence. Remember, you’ll need a Personal Licence to be a designated premises supervisor.
A Personal Licence allows you to authorise the sale or supply of alcohol in a venue or property which has a premises licence anywhere in Malvern Hills or England and Wales.
Personal Licences are issued by the local authority of the applicant’s home address. Once issued, they do not expire. So, you only have do all this just once…….
A Personal Licence holder can authorise up to 50 temporary event notices in each calendar year. This is subject to certain restrictions. Non-Personal Licence holders can only authorise up to five notices.
Personal Licences are portable. A licence holder can authorise sales of alcohol in all venues with a premises licence throughout England and Wales, but not Scotland, they have their own system north of the border.
