I travel to your premises and deliver the Highfield level 2 Personal Licence course, on a day that suits you. No need to travel and sit in crowded room with a load of strangers, I can tailor a Personal Licence course just for you.
Every premises licensed to sell alcohol must have a designated premises supervisor (DPS) named on the premises licence. If you are looking to become a DPS, you are in the right place.
Call me, Johnny Walker, on 07970 134 730 and I’ll talk you through the process of gaining a Personal Licence without the stress and tears.
A designated premises supervisor (DPS) must hold a Personal Licence as they are responsible, for authorising the sale of alcohol at the premises.
Before you can apply for a Personal Licence you need to obtain a qualification, so that you have a good understanding of the Licensing Act 2003 and the responsibilities involved when selling alcohol.
Not every person who sells alcohol at licensed premises, for example bar staff, need a Personal Licence, but every sale must be authorised by a Personal Licence holder, usually the DPS. For that reason we strongly suggest that the DPS authorises, in writing, members of staff to sell alcohol in their absence.
You do not need a Personal Licence to sell alcohol under a temporary event notice (TEN), but if you do hold a Personal Licence, the number of TENs you can apply for in a year, increases from 5 to 50.
To be granted a Personal Licence, you will have to:
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Not have forfeited a personal licence within five years.
- Not have been convicted of a relevant or foreign offence.
- Possess an accredited licensing qualification.
By the way, you do not have to operate licensed premises to obtain a Personal Licence. You do not have to be in the licensed trade or sell alcohol to become a Personal Licence holder.
Call Johnny Walker on 07970 134 730 and I can answer all your questions about getting licensed to spill. Cheers.
