I come to your premises. It’s more convenient for you and you can choose a day that suits your diary. No need to travel to some course and sit in a classroom with strangers. If you have not sat an exam for some years, relax. I specialise in teaching individuals who have been out of education for some time. A Personal Licence permits a specified person to supply alcohol or allow the supply of alcohol at a premises that has a valid premises licence. Personal Licences do not expire, and may be used anywhere in England and Wales. You may only hold one Personal Licence. But, you can be the Designated Premises Supervisor of more than one premises.
You will need a Personal Licence:
- If you are designated as the premises supervisor on a premises licence for a premises where alcohol is to be sold
- If you want to sell alcohol under a premises licence or authorise others to sell alcohol under a premises licence
- If you want to use more than five temporary event notices (TENs) in a calendar year.
To be granted a Personal Licence, you must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Have an accredited licensing qualification, I deliver the Highfield level 2 one-day course, at your premises
- Have not forfeited a Personal Licence within the preceding five years
- Have no unspent conviction(s) for a `relevant´ or `foreign´ offence committed in this country or abroad. If you have, call me first and I can advise
- Have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) standard check, conviction certificate, or Police National Computer (PNC) check (no older than 1 month at the date of application).
My one-day Personal Licence course will prepare you for the end course exam, as well as giving you loads of tips and advice on how to operate your premises within the law. Remember, if you get the selling of alcohol wrong, the penalties can be quite serious.
